Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) Complete History

Hai Viewers, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection(IBPS) is a self-governing authority in India. The IBPS initially started its operation in 1975 as Personnel Selection Services (PSS). After in 1984, the IBPS has turned as self-employed legal fictions at the command of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Public Sector Banks. IBPS is entered as self-governed academic and and research oriented Institute, with a target of increasing human process development through personal appraisal.

In 2011 IBPS has conducted a common written examination (CWE) for the selection Officers and Clerks in Indian banks. Now IBPS CWE is required for everyone who looks for employment in 20 public sector and Regional Rural banks. IBPS is frequently conducts the exam for candidates at various locations through online or offline mode. It will accepts the exam applications from the candidates through official website www.ibps.in.

Governing Board :
                    
The Governing Board comprises of candidates from Reserve Bank of India, Ministry of Finance Government of India, National Institute of Bank Management, representatives of Public Sector Banks, Insurance sector and academics. The topics related to policies and affaires of the institite indued in the Governing Board.

Exams For Different Cadres:

IBPS will conduct the common exams for every six months. As per the latest notification IBPS PO & Clerk will be conducted for once a year

CWE - Clerk for Clerical positions

CWE PO/MT  - For Probationary Officer/Management Trainee

Specialist Officer- For Specialist Officer Positions

RRB Officers  - For selection of officers & office assistants to Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) governed by NABARD.

Eligibility:

                  IBPS has changed the eligibility criteria for candidates as per the approval of Government of India. The age limit to apply for PO & clerical exams is below 20 to 30 and education qualification is any degree from recognized university.

                 For the Specialist Officers, they required a Professional qualification in law Accounting, Agriculture, IT or management sector and also A certificate is required in Computer operations or  Computer Knowledge are mandatory for these posts.

Common Written Examination (CWE)

                The IBPS CWE syllabus and general instructions for filling IBPS online application is avaliable in Exam Notification Details. The exam date or Venu will be intimated for the candidates Via through call latter or they can download from IBPS official website. IBPS CWE is a objective type exam and it will have negative marking for every wrong answer. At first the exam is conducted through offline mode, but in 2012 IBPS moved to an internet-based examination process.

Results:

            The IBPS CWE results will be published through online mode from the official website. All the candidates who are written the IBPS CWE exam can check their results from official website only.

              IBPS goes for a cutt-off method to decide the final score Known as TWSS (Total Weighted Standardized Scores). The scorecards will be send for the qualified candidates. The candidates who are qualified in the exam have to wait for Common interview to take place.

Common Interview:

               In 2012, IBPS officially declared that the banks can no longer conduct the interviews for qualified candidates those are selected in the IBPS CWE. Instead of it, IBPS itself is conducting a Common interview (CI) for qualified candidates in IBPS CWE. The interview will be arranged in different locations and will finalizes the merit list and will be recruit them directly for the banking jobs. That Simply the IBPS has resets now complete control over recruiting and placing process to all public sector banks in India.
